Death Destruction and Mayhem. Another Day in the News.

China’s having bigger problems than us, as the fifth school attack left 9 people dead.  In a rash of attacks that seem to be happening mostly in kindergarden schools, a man hacked to death 7 toddlers and 2 adults with a cleaver before going home and killing himself.  This is the fifth time something like this has happened in the past two months, despite heighten security measures.  There is something weird going on in that country, because this is far from a normal wave of killings.  I seriously wonder what exactly it is that is causing this, not just the bullshit they’re feeding us.  Leaves a lot open to conspiracy theories.

But while China may be filled with violence, America is just filled with stupidity.  Some 22 year old guy in Texas decided he was too old and re-enrolled in junior high, posing as a 15 year old Haitian boy supposedly living with a half-brother.  It seems he just wanted to relive his high school basketball glory days.  Let me tell you, 22 is NOT old.  You can go to college, get on their basketball team and have a real shot at the NBA.  Why the hell do you want to go back to high school?!

Having lived in a home with a disabled person (my father) put me in a position to see just how little people really do for the disabled.  There are a lot of places around the country, even in Buffalo, that don’t have accessible services.  It’s most glaringly obvious when I went out to dinner with my family, and even now I shake my head at people who can’t be bothered to even put a ramp in so that someone else can eat at their establishment.  Thanks to the efforts of Dan D’Andrea and Dave Whalen, things like that may be changing around Buffalo. I’m glad their doing something about it, and if my parents were still in their prime, they would probably be joining in.  I am quite pleased.

  • The Philippines should not let the Marcos family anywhere near politics
  • A plane crash near Libya killed 103 people, with one 10 year old boy surviving.  All I can say is wow.
  • Happy to see the new D’Youville  Academic Center is finally up and running.  They started building that back when I was in high school.  Good to know it’s only taken them about 7 years and $20 million.  Money well spent in the pursuit of education, housing their new pharmacy program.

And that’s all the time we have for today.  Later Days folks!
